More About My Therapeutic Approaches

INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS

The Internal Family Systems (IFS Therapy) model is a compassionate and non-shaming way to understand your own inner-system including the mind and your emotions. This approach is based on the premise that the mind is made up of different "parts," or subpersonalities, each with its own feelings, desires, and roles. These parts interact within an internal system, much like members of a family. IFS focuses on understanding and healing these internal relationships to promote emotional well-being.

EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITISATION  & REPROCESSING (EMDR)

EMDR is a specialised form of psychotherapy designed to help people heal from trauma or distressing experiences. It works by helping the brain reprocess traumatic memories so they feel less overwhelming. The therapy uses guided eye movements or other forms of rhythmic stimulation (like tapping or sounds) while you focus on specific memories or emotions. This process helps "unstick" the brain from being trapped in the trauma, allowing it to process the experience in a healthier way.
